I read the part of it as an assignment for translating class last year. My teacher never told me the title of the book. And I don't know the name of the main character since it was written in first person style.

The story takes place in California. The main character's father, Jimmy, hired the babysitter even though his child is 14 years old. The sitter is named Starr. They went to Venice Beach often. Jimmy starts to live in his office, so the main character starts to feel that Starr is what she wanted.

This is all I read for the assignment, but I really want to read this as a whole.
