I can only remember 2 characters to any degree, the first is a former soldier turned priest/professor who is sent on a mission by the clergy so he has to find a way to join a ship's crew. The other is a human tiger hybrid, when you first meet him he has no eyes and one arm and is i believe a bodyguard/slave for some type of criminal. His eyes and arm are replaced with bionics and he ends up joining the same crew but is told to stop them from completing their mission, the hybrid is struggling with how he's been dishonored and seeks redemption.
