I had no problem getting into this story with the new characters. They are so well developed, I felt like I already knew them.
I dreaded rereading this one because I remembered how much I struggled the first time. But! I was hooked quickly and had to reflect on what didn’t work the last time.
I believe I was unprepared for the series pivot to Troubleshooters. I kept looking for my old characters and past connections so maybe I wasn’t really into the story as I was just trying to get to the parts involving the Team.
And, listening to the series made quite a difference.

I quickly became engaged with the new cast of characters. @Jonetta - For me it helped that I was aware in advance that the focus would not be on SEAL Team 16.
Lauren, it made a big difference the second time around. I wasn’t on Goodreads when I first read this series. In fact, I discovered Goodreads because of this series. There was a link to Shelfari and then I discovered Goodreads a couple of months later.
