Nora Currie I just finished Chapter 4 and I really feel sorry for Bilbo and the dwarves being chased by goblins. The only time I was taken out of the story was when the author mentioned the post office, but I was able to jump into the story again!

I don't recall. A post office in the Shire? I could see that since Hobbits are chatty and gossipy.

The author mentioned how the mountain paths are like going to the post office in our world. That’s a pretty funny image, Book Nerd, lol!!

It's not such a stretch. I definitely see hobbits writing each other long chatty letters, usually accompanied by a big box of snacks.

I can totally see it now too and it would fit right into the book.

Part of me always feels sorry for Gollum, and then he does something nasty. His life is so strange and lonely.
