Thanks, all. :)
And nah... not holding breath. Besides, if y'all behaved, this place wouldn't be any fun. ;)

No need for sadness, Aileen. I'm still gonna' visit and participate. I just didn't feel my activity level lately was enough to qualify as a staff member here.
Be happy! Spring is in the air... at least for you and I here in Florida. ;)

Eric, if you ever want to jump back in as moderator it'll always be open for you. You will always be the crypt keeper

Thanks. That's always a possibility. As a matter of fact, you can re-apply my Crypt Keeper nickname. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I deleted it.
By the way, that's a beautiful new avatar pic of you and your #1. :)

If you can't figure out how to re-apply my nickname, you'll just have to make me a moderator again so I can do it. ;)

While up here, the East Coast in laying in the snow like Randy in "The Christmas Story", and Mother Nature's sitting on its back, twisting its arm ...and the East Coast has already screamed "Uncle!", but it just keeps going......
I don't know how you northern folks live up there in the wintertime. I guess you can get used to anything, huh?
Well, it does indeed feel as though I'm back in WI! But the older I get, the harder it is to handle these exceptional years. Cause this is an exceptional one.
I'm so thrilled that Aileen asked me to step in as a moderator!
One, two, KC's coming for you.
Three, four, Better lock your door
Five, six, grab a crucifix.
Seven, eight, Gonna stay up late.
Nine, ten, Never sleep again....

Although we will miss Eric, Aileen couldn't have picked a better crew as moderators. I think you ladies will keep the group alive and active.
Well, it seems that Aileen made me a moderator again so I could re-apply my nick name.
I see the moderator list has grown since yesterday. COOL!
With all these lovely ladies as moderators, maybe I'll just stay on as one... you know, to help out if needed. Could this have been a sneaky Aileen way to get me to come back to the fold? ;)
Off we go...

I'm Midwestern born and bred, and no, NE is not the worst. The Midwest sees 23 below in the daytime. NE usually starts whining at about 15 degrees. Here, it rarely dips below 10 in the winter, and I remember seeing flowers in my garden the first couple years I was here. I just find myself, as I get older, seeing the onset of winter as if it were new and I hadn't weathered those temps before! And what I don't like about it here is that people don't know how to drive in it, whereas they do in the Midwest. Every time it snows three inches, I feel like a prisoner! And they don't shovel, so you can't walk much, either!

Yay!
So, with all the extra help around here, I guess I can goof off and maybe go read a book or something, huh?
Oh, boy! :)
Oh, boy! :)
We didn't get rid of you then, Eric :D...KC congratulations! By the way, I'm dreaming about Florida right now, with the sun and all...aaawwwwww I wish I lived there. My hands have problems with cold. :(

Yeah... Aileen threatened to drive up to Tampa and beat me over the head with my keyboard if I didn't stay on as a Murderator here. ;)
Dreaming of Florida, huh? Well, you'd have liked it today... bright, sunny, breezy with temps in the low 80s.

Don't worry. Your beautiful spring is coming. And by the time you're enjoying your beautiful spring, I'll be sweltering in 97 degree temps and 99% humidity. I HATE summertime in Florida.

Eric wrote: "I HATE summertime in Florida."Lol, yeah it's a blast ain't it? Step outside & it literally takes your breath away as the stifling heat & humidity smack you in the face so hard! Feels like breathing inside an oven.
Also, congrats KC! :)
yes it is hot down in florida but we do get some relief with the beach or pool. I'm pretty much a fish in our pool all summer.

Actual fact, we get rotten humidity here, too. Can't keep salt in the salt shaker. But yes, open water nearby, so breezy. And I hear from a niece who was in Pensacola that everyone gets bugs, regardless of the state of the house. And snakes on your patio.
Yesterday afternoon, yet another snow day. And today the day before spring break. The kids checked out at noon yesterday, mentally.

Yeah... a blast furnace. ;)
When I was a kid I loved the summertime. As I've gotten older, I prefer the transition months of spring and fall.

Yup. Here in Tampa when I was growing up, we used to just hop from one neighbor's pool to the next and then on to some of the hotel/motel pools even. We were always wet when we were kids. ;)

I hardly get any bugs in my hermetically sealed, heavily air-conditioned house during the hot months here in Tampa.
Snakes on the patio? Who cares? I won't be going out there again till the end of October. ;)

Haven't had any fire ants in my yard for a few years. It's weird. They used to be everywhere out there.
We have scorpions and ticks here, but if we keep everything wet and well watered we don't have a problem.
Aileen wrote: "Come to think of it I haven't seen fire ants in a very long time too. Hmm I wonder why"
I think some other breeds of ants have run them out, actually. I have newer types of ants in my yard these days. I have these black ants that don't bite. I have some teeny-tiny little pale reddish ants that do bite. And I have lots of those big carpenter ants. Fire ants all gone, though.

Because my online time has been waning greatly this past few weeks, I've decided to step down as a moderator here.
I'll still pop in occasionally, but I don't feel that I can contribute as I should be doing, particularly with that "Moderator" classification attached to my name.
Anywho... all's well.
Carry on. Stay creepy!
