I'm thinking of rereading this book this month. I'm not sure yet, but I'm attracted by the idea if reading it again.. I've already read it 2 times this year, but I just live it so much.. Idk.

I just got it in from the library!! I was worried i wouldnt get in time so yayy! Also usually i dont like books w real people on the cover but i love this one for some reason. My cover looks like this

I totally agree about the cover! Covers with real people are usually just meh, but I love this one! And I really love his many books by Kazuo Ishiguro have a similar design, and the overall (if somebody owns all the books in this edition) is so pretty! Like, it's a series or something.. look at them:

ok ive started it but only on pg 37 and liking it so far! But also im highly confused. (view spoiler)[What are donations? Whatre they donating, organs or something? For some reason before reading i got the impression that this was like a psychological torture school where they had some sort of giant study on kids but without their knowledge, but it actually seems kinda nice? But then why is madame so scared?? Are they like test tube babies or something? Im so confused lol guess ive just gotta keep reading (hide spoiler)]

I know it's just page 37, so that's not really serious spoilers, but I understand that someone might not want to know these things before starting the book..

And about your questions.. well, everything will be eventually answered. Just keep reading :)) But I totally get how you feel, I was that confused too when I first started the book :)

I have completed the first part of the book and honestly i cannot wait to finish this book, I am totally confused of some things relating Hailsham and stuff. But overall, till now it has been a happy read..

To be totally honest, I haven't really decided yet XD There are some other books which I want to read, but I miss this one so much.. Idk, really. I'm mostly a mood reader, so I might suddenly start it out of nowhere jut because I felt a strong nostalgia for it. So, I'll see... :)

Im about to start part 3 and (view spoiler)[Idk if i like ruth anymore at all. Shes not a very good friend. And i feel so bad for tommy. Hes the kindest and purest of them all but he keeps being hurt by those closest to him. Also i kind of hope him and kath end up together (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I'm not sure about Ruth.. there was some time when I didn't like her at all either, but I'm not sure anymore.. She surely did make some mistakes, but I feel like, at the end, she regretted for what she had done. Regret is not always enough to forgive a person, but I think Ruth deserves to be forgiven. I don't know, maybe just the fact that she never really had a life makes me feel sorry for her, so I can't be anymore angry at her..

I totally agree about Tommy bring the purest of the three. They all deserved better, but especially Tommy. Because, as you said, he kept being hurt throughout the whole book, and that's a shame.. At that part, when he got out of the car and started screaming.. I just couldn't stop crying. It's like.. at that right moment he admitted that his life was not at the least as good as it could possibly be, and that everything was unfair. For him. For them. For all the clones.. No dont feel bad at all! Im still glad i read it, and there were definitely parts that i liked about it. The writing was my favorite part, and how it ebbed and flowed plotwise just like the waves on the shore of a lake, i just loved that. I feel really bad that i didnt love it as much as you, and i definitely dont want to disparage one of your favorites! but i really did try to love it, i think that it just wasnt my thing. Im still open to trying other books by him tho :)

Well, I'm happy you liked some parts of it! I totally agree about the writing! I love so much how it does not move chronologically. Don't feel bad for not liking it that much! Not all books are for everyone! I totally understand that it just wasn't your cup of tea :)
