Juarez’s capture of Kane and Sean is done quickly and smartly. Were you surprised that they were caught off guard like this? Was Juarez following Siobhan for years?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I was surprised that Kane didn't have a safe room or a hiding place on the ranch where he and Sean could retreat to. Kane seems like the type that would have a plan in case someone got through the security.

I think Juarez has been biding his time and keeping both Siobhan and Kane in his sights. He's been watching them to see if they're still in touch with his daughter. His waiting paid off.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I felt like if Kane and Sean were alone, they would have a plan to implement. Kane, in particular, wanted Juarez out of the way when Siobhan returned. He allowed his capture to protect the people he loved.

I don't think Juarez had eyes on Siobhan for too many years, but once he felt more in control and powerful, he started monitoring her movements again.

Nine years is a long time but Juarez was ruthless and crazy. He just might have had eyes on her for a long time.

I was quite surprised that Kane didn’t have some security option once Juarez had breached his ranch perimeter. But I hadn’t thought about the possibility he allowed himself to be captured to protect Siobhan and Lucy.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Kane has a lot of enemies and even though he was unaware of any impending threat, I would have expected that he would have had contingency plans in the event of any attack. The zone sensor going out, the cell phones being blocked, the drones they shot down were all more than enough warning that an attack was imminent.

It did look like Juarez was keeping track of Siobhan over the years, but it felt more like he had informants feeding him information. Even Kane didn't know she had been in contact and had gone to Hazel's graduation. Definitely a leak somewhere.

Thanks for summarizing all those security issues. I couldn’t recall them all but walked away being puzzled why they weren’t more alarmed.

Juarez probably had a network of people following Siobhan’s movements. She ruined not only his deal but his reputation. This was not something he was going to let go.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Siobhan travels for her job. How could Juarez know she was going to see Hazel? Was it just because she had never been to Phoenix before? I don't see how Juarez was able to connect this trip to Hestia or even find out her new name but nothing else about her.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Siobhan isn't as aware of her surroundings as Lucy, Sean, and Kane. I think someone was following her or tapping her phone. Anyone walking into the graduation would hear her name and know who Hazel was, especially when Siobhan congratulated her.

I didn't think that losing the cell phones, etc., signaled danger. Sean didn't have his backup in place nor the satellite bridges. I know when we are at my cousin's cabin in the Tennessee mountains, service is iffy when the wind changes.

But the ranch is owned by RCK and used for business. Their stuff was state of the art, or should have been. I could be wrong and that’s the basis for my concern at the time.

I didn't catch that. For some reason I thought this was a new home Kane purchased. Now I have to re-think some of my assumptions.

It used to be owned by Jack and RCK bought it. Kane’s been living in it.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments If they had it fixed up with all the latest (which one might have expected after bad guys got into Sean's place with its hyper-quality security), how could Juarez have captured these two? Not on the property, for sure. Hmmm.

That was my issue.
