The story begins by recounting what happened nine years ago when Siobhan rescued Hestia Juarez from her father and the beast he was forcing her to marry. Was it helpful to provide the right context and level of danger? Would you have felt differently with just a simple summary?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I loved that we "saw" what actually happened and weren't just told about it. It drew me into the story right away. I don't think a simple explanation of what happened previously would have worked as well.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with Robin. I loved the way we were shown the backstory. Getting this first-hand look at the events built the suspense and prepared me to suspect revenge.

Me, too! It was a much different takeaway experiencing what happened versus just absorbing the information. I came away knowing just how dangerous and fearsome Juarez was.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I always prefer seeing the action instead of being told about it. I helped to establish that Siobhan was impulsive, and that Kane was going to save her no matter what she did.
