Allen Barber The only thing I can remember from this book is that the kid wakes up one day and finds he's in an identical version of his world, except everyone is dinosaurs. He's still a human. I think maybe his surroundings were similar but more dinosaur-ish (think The Flintstones aesthetic). To try and blend in as his triceratops self, he wears a football helmet and covers it in clay.

I read it as a child in the 90s but it must have been published in the late 70s or early 80s. The version I read was in English.

Google Books preview of The Double Disappearance of Walter Fozbek by Steve Senn - Justanotherbiblophile's suggestion:

There are different cover images. The book contains unique black-and-white illustrations.

Quote from the book:
- "Ralph! Wake up"...
Walter yelped. There was a Triceratops in Ralph's pajamas! And it looked like Ralph! Ralph's beak dropped wide open when he saw Walter. Then Ralph yelped.
