Seth | 790 comments I came across this cruise advertisement which will give you a week-long Danube cruise with author Gillian Flynn (of Gone Girl fame). You spend a week doing sight-seeing stuff, but also get to attend exclusive author events.

So that made me think of what author I might pay to spend a themed week on a boat with. I was thinking a Murderbot week with Martha Wells might be a good time. I'm pretty socially awkward, so to honor Murderbot there could be events where people get to wear helmets or something so we could hide our facial expressions. And there's always the option to skip any event and get room service and watch TV.

Minsta | 111 comments I would want a Becky Chambers cruise with chefs aboard the ship cooking and baking the meals she describes in her novels. We would need a Tea Monk too, of course :)

Seth | 790 comments Apparently Mary Robinette Kowal is into cruises. Her new book The Spare Man takes place aboard one, and in her afterward she talks about enjoying taking cruises with groups of writers. A Spare Man, sci-fi/mystery cruise would probably be a fun one, featuring, as it must, a whole bunch of fun cocktails.

I really want to go on the Writing Excuses cruise! Maybe one day the stars will align…
