Harald | 46 comments Hi All. I recently negotiated a TV-Movie Option-Purchase Agreement for my 2018 historical novel “NEW YORK 1609.” While this is an exciting development, it’s also a long shot and will take years before a TV series or movie comes of it—if at all.

Because I’m an Indie author/publisher, I’ve decided to make the most of the news by promoting the deal where I can. Besides the obvious (my social media pages, New York-oriented blogs, etc.), I’ve also adjusted my book listings to reflect this. One way is with a “badge” like you see on books with TV/movie tie-ins:

Of course, they usually wait until there *IS* a movie or TV show. In my case, I’m doing it now rather than later:

NY1609 book square with badge

So what are some other ideas? Any other Indie authors out there with Options who are doing interesting things to spread the word?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for your comment, Anna! I see we're both time travelers. You seem to prefer the 19th century, where I started with 17th, and then jumped back to Neanderthals and 40,000 years ago! And we both love the sea ;-).
