Nah, you have to embrace it. When I was attempting my Masters, I accidentally left one of my old textbooks in there. One night when we had friends over for dinner, our teacher friend came out reading "The Sociology of Education" which she had discovered there and wanted to borrow it.
So I am looking at (sorry, can't do links on my phone) Snow Flower and the Secret Fan,
House of Sand and Fog
Spring Flowers, Spring Frost
@Russalka. Sniff about Fresh as titel word. There goes a universe of possibilitys...
Hurricane... I m sure there is a book about a box fighter with this word in the title. It was a movie also
I love poetry. I just thought it was my chance to read some in a challenge. But all are very short.(lol Cherie!)

I have The Year of the Flood on my TBR. I considered it. I found all of these others that you have listed too. It was fun to see what was out there. I think this is always the best part of a new challenge - gophering for books to read and figuring out what points they are worth. :0)
The only words I did not search from your list is Sleet.
Argh! I quoted myself and tried to make a post three times, but my post ends up looking all weird. It seems that I can't read The Shifting Fog after all. My ebook has the title, but when I open it, it shows the cover of The House at Riverton. I found The Dry Grass of August as well, so it's going to be that one or Cold Sassy Tree
I have endless number of appropriate books on my TBR.I have these on my shelf so possible contenders -
Cloud Atlas
It Rains in February: A Wife's Memoir of Love and Loss
The Boys of Summer
Heat of the Moment
I am also interested in procuring-
The Snow Child
Snow Like Ashes
Snow
Sorry Pragya. Summer doesn't count. It's my example of what not to choose, so you may have misread that.
Peggy, Cold Sassy Tree is one of my 4 options too. I didn't decide yet what to read yet, but I have time to decided since our local library is closed. A frozen and burst water pipe has caused building damage so the library will remain closed until further notice.

Great minds etc etc ;)

My mom just texted me to let me know she has written out 4 Pages of books with weather terms and the title.she recommended that cold and sassy tree book, don't recall the exact title.
@Peggy, I read at the newspaper that some books were damaged, but the building had the worst part. It's a pity, such a beautiful library. I felt so sad when I knew. It's crazy how important the library is for us!@Rusalka, Great minds cross posts. That's the original telling.
@Berit, Do you have your mom doing the gophering for you? :)
No :-) I just mentioned it to her at lunch and she took it upon herself. My parents have a beautiful library in their house, literally! Also my mom really enjoys making lists ;-)
Berit wrote: "No :-) I just mentioned it to her at lunch and she took it upon herself. My parents have a beautiful library in their house, literally! Also my mom really enjoys making lists ;-)"That will come in handy for this book group and all the gophering that goes on :)
My daughter helps with the gophering sometimes, but usually she is gophering for her own. Our reading intrests cross over, but hardly ever at the same time with the same book, even on group reads.
I'll let her know that, but she is more technically challenged then I am :-) I should submit a monthly challenge read on her behalf :-)
I've been rereading Euphoria for another group, and I noticed that the same author, Lily King, previously wrote a book called Father of the Rain. I may try that. I really like the way King writes.
I'm going to go with When the Wind Blows by James Patterson. I have had it in my personal "library" forever and looking forward to getting through it :) it is about time I read another James Patterson book that isn't related to a series :)
Melissa wrote: "Cherie, is your daughter a member of this group?"One of her daughters is - AmyK. We used to have another mother/daughter team here, Judy and Amanda. We have sisters Almeta & DebraT.
I was shocked, Berit! When I looked it up on goodreads to make sure it didn't say book one or anything like that :)
Well crum! I just looked it up again and it says #1..I must have looked up the wrong one earlier..boooooo!! Oh well, I'm still going to read it but won't count it for the series challenge :)
Stephanie wrote: "Well crum! I just looked it up again and it says #1..I must have looked up the wrong one earlier..boooooo!! I had no idea about Cherie and AmyK. Fun to know :) I knew about Almeta and DebraT.
My mom reads a lot too, ever since I can remember, I must have gotten it from her :)
That's very cool about the families here!I tried to get my mom to join this group, but she's too busy reading haha.....
@Berit.Well. We should invite you mother to join YLTO. There will bere fir sure many listing to do with the Year Challenge
Lol. I posted my previous comment BEFORE I read all new comments already posted. Minds..., etc., etc.

Well, I was leaning towards Snow Falling on Cedars, which I still would like to read, but I can't find an audio book of it, so I find it doubtful I'll have the time to squeeze it in.
I have just learned of a new book coming out March 3 in a series I follow that sounds like it will fit. Dead Heat I know I can't count points for in the series challenge, but who cares. I always devour books in this series as soon as I get my hands on them. Rusalka, you said you would count heat if used as a weather term. In this book, characters from Montana vacation in Arizona to buy a horse. "Dead heat" is an excellent description of much of the weather here in the Phoenix summer. Often there is a stillness, not a breeze stirring, and it feels like the world is just being baked. Will you count this?
