Jade | 721 comments I am glad this won. With the movie being released right now I think this will be good to discuss.

Karin I hope people here like this! I read it during Covid and am not ready to reread it :)

Pam (bluegrasspam) I read it a few years ago and enjoyed it. Saw the movie last week, which was also good! Both the book and movie are very atmospheric (the marsh setting). Enjoy!

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the movie. I'm hoping to go see it soon, I usually try and wait for the hype to die down a bit before seeing it so it's not as busy in the theatre.

Carol Dobson | 51 comments It is one of the best books I have ever read. Stunning descriptions of the countryside and wild life. It took Delia Owens 10 years to write which is not surprising.

message 7: by Kim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kim (kimborams) | 513 comments Read this one in March 2019 and rated it over 5 stars - absolutely loved it. Indeed it was my Book of the Year for 2019.
Thrilled also to see the film version, which I saw last week, with Daisy Edgar-Jones (who played Marianne in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People) in the main role - a great adaptation which probably means I will have to buy and re-read the book and watch the film again!

I read this one early, as part of the readathon because I couldn't wait to get started. I really enjoyed reading it again although I don't think I got anything different from my second reading.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Loved this book when I read it! I have read the author's non-fiction, and really enjoyed that as well. This novel kept me glued to the pages no problem!
