Kim (kimborams) | 513 comments Read this one in March 2019 and rated it over 5 stars - absolutely loved it. Indeed it was my Book of the Year for 2019. Thrilled to see that the film version is coming out later this month, with Daisy Edgar-Jones (who played Marianne in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People) in the main role.

Kim (kimborams) | 513 comments Further to my previous post, I have now seen the film and thought that it was an excellent adaptation of the book - well worth watching and I will probably be watching it again as well as getting my own copy of the book to re-read!

Shá (naturesexplorers) | 2 comments I also read this a while ago. I recall the writing being quite beautiful and I loved the mystery. I wasn't a fan of the ending or even the last few chapters but the first part of the book was engaging (minus how obvious the murder was; yet, how it didn't quite add up based on this).

Overall, however, great suspense and scenery that really out the reader in the setting. I've heard nothing but good reviews about the movie, this might be in the top five movies that had a good adaptation!

Barry Flanders | 6 comments About halfway through this. It's a slog. Not my kind of book, but I will finish it.

Karin I read this in 2020, the year I read by far the most books ever due to covid shutdowns. It started off with such grief and sorrow I didn't think I'd finish it, but it ended up keeping me up at night in order keep on reading.

spoko (spokospoko) | 160 comments Apparently I’m a little late to discover this real-life mystery surrounding Delia Owens. But in case others here are also unaware, I recommend this podcast episode about it. Truly bizarre story; more than a little scary in its implications.

Delia Owens wrote the thriller Where the Crawdads Sing. Was she also involved in a murder?

Sorry to be so late in commenting.
I've read it at the seaside with almost no connectionat all.
I have to say I liked it a lot: a "mystery" I had not cleared till the last page - but that's not so unusual for me! - but a lot more than that: I've founf it a book on coping, with hardships, loneliness, abandonment. A book on poetry, on the poetry of nature. A book to read

Karin I'm far behind! I meant to get here but forgot. I liked this book better than I thought I would based on the beginning. I haven't seen the film, though.
