Two sisters on a beach day with their family. One goes missing/ dies while the other should be looking after her. Spoilers.

I had a vague recollection of a book that I've read in the last few years (probably since 2019, 2020?). It could be an Australian author, but it may not be. I also can't remember if I read this as a book or an audiobook.

Early on, there were two sisters on a beach and one of them was talking to a boy, but had to look after the younger sister. We find out that the younger sister died and there was a particular guy who was blamed for her death.

The girl, the guy and the younger sister went off to a beach with a rock pool?

However, it turns out (view spoiler)[that the girl had (I think) gone off with the guy and while she wasn't paying attention to her sister, she fell and hid her head and died on the rocks. The sister came back and cried saying she couldn't find her sister and covered it up for years (hide spoiler)]
