YA Sci-Fi book (1st book in a series) about a group of teenagers whose parents disappear/those teens are the last ones on the planet. Read in 2012-2016.

To start off, I know that this book is not “The Last Kids on Earth.” I have looked at that series already and came to the conclusion that it is not what I’m looking for. The book I’m looking for was part of a series, but I only read the first book. I believe that this series had a lot of books, and I cannot remember if it was a children’s book or a young adult, but I am leaning towards YA. The only things I remember about the book is that these teenagers woke up one morning to find their parents gone. I think that one of the girls lived in a trailer park and had a step-dad that was a drunk? I have a terrible memory so some of this could be a little off or even completely wrong, but if anyone knows anything, please let me know :)

To me it sounds a little like the Gone series, all the adults disappear and the kids have to take care of each other. Some of them also develop powers. There are lots of characters and some of the backstories sound a little like the one you describe.
