YA mystery I read (I think) in the later 1980's that had a Volvo station wagon in the book

I remember reading a YA book in the mid-to-late 1980's (unless it was very early 1990's) but I can't recall many details except that the main character was male, There was a house (possibly that he was staying at/working at) and mentioned in the book (or driven by the main character) was a Volvo station wagon from that time (the Volvo 200 series). I think the genre of the book was mystery. Any help recalling the book's title, author, or any other details will be very appreciated!
