Yeah I heard that an forgot. Zombie lovers unite. Enjoy it as mainstream embraces it for a few years, lets hope it doesnt get buff-ied, though I must admit it was fun then.
Latest update on the Walking Dead coming to a TV near you. Grab a blunt object and aim for the head!http://ow.ly/ZeT1
Lemme know if that link does not work for you.
Also, I'm having a bitch of a time finding Vol. 11 of The Walking Dead. Is it even out yet?

i think Volume 11 got pushed back to....i don't know.
Excellent news regarding the WD series. Even getting a pilot done would be great, since I think it would interest non-zombie fans in much the same way the comic series has.
Miller seems a good enough choice for Rick. Interesting they have the character Shane chosen first, given his fate in the book. Of course, Kirkman did say that the series might not completely follow the comic's narrative. I'm looking forward to see the show and glad they have committed to more than just a single pilot episode.
Kirkman is a very, good comics writer and Walking Dead is probably his best work. I recommend picking up the first TPB to see if you enjoy the book. Many of the main characters are introduced and you get an idea of where Kirkman wants to bring the story. It isn't just about killing zombies, but rather a look at how regular people must adapt to a new way of life.Let us know what you think if you read it, okay?

WD is in both hardcover & TPB, as well as a larger 'Omnibus' edition. I would go with vol. 1 in the TPB collection.
More WALKING DEAD casting updates! Andrew Lincoln is a great, down-to-earth British actor. Happy to see him involved with this project.http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com...
Are there any American actors capable of playing the lead on a television series? Don't want to come off all xenophobe, but there appear to be a large, number of British actors playing Americans on network programs. Many are doing great jobs and there are several whose work I enjoy. It just seems a trend. No offense to any British forum members.
I've never herad of Andrew Lincoln. Hopefully he'll do well. According to FEARNET, Jeffrey DeMunn has also joined the cast, with speculation he may play Dale. DeMunn has appears in Walking Dead director Frank Darabont's previous efforts The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Majestic and The Mist. He has also starred in Stephen King's Storm of the Century.
Darabont and company are currently in Atlanta, Georgia prepping for principal photography.
DeMunn's a good actor and I think he'll do a heck of a job as Dale. Although in the book Dale is a shorter, heavier type then DeMunn appears to be, I don't expect film & TV adaptations to completely mirror the book.
Thanks for sharing, Dana. Saw these yesterday and forgot to post here. SO EXCITED for this, I can't tell ya! :o)
Hi all -
Been lurking for a while. I am super excited for this series, and AMC seems to be giving it their usual excellent treatment and production values.
I wrote a little essay about it, and what makes for a good zombie story, here:

Hope to hear from some of you!

Good article there Lisa. It reminded me that I wanted to recommend a BBC show Suvivors, no zombies, but about people trying to survive in a dog eat dog world. It also reminded me how disappointed I was with Land of the Dead, and have yet to watch Diary and Survival...Anyway...
Here is an article that has collected all the production photos so far. Then there is the official AMC Facebook fanpage for the show, which has been posting the shots.
Thanks, Allen.
I enjoyed "Land of the Dead," myself. Wasn't thrilled with "Diary..." I finally saw "Survival..." this weekend and parts of it reminded me of "The Walking Dead," particularly Hershel's belief in keeping his "dead ones" locked in the barn until someone could find a "cure."
Thanks for the FB tip, too!

I've got the 2nd season now on my netflix list so looking forward to that, as well as the original TV series of the same story but done in the 70s with three seasons.
Here's a USA Today article with Robert Kirkman. Also, Robert Kirkman's on Twitter (@robertkirkman). He tweets A LOT! :o)http://www.usatoday.com/life/comics/2...
Here's a cast photo:http://screenrant.com/walking-dead-ca...
Scroll down within the article. Lookin' pretty damn decent.
The motion comic is really well done. Everyone should check it out at the link below.http://www.amctv.com/originals/The-Wa...
somebody posted their film of the comic con trailervery nice

Got to see some of the Walking Dead promotional stuff at Comic-con. Everything looks cool. They had a set on the exhibition floor where folks could get their photo taken with one of several zombie victims. Through the 'windows' you could see zombies walking past. Pretty cool and I'm looking forward to the AMC program even more.
Okay, gang, for those of us who couldn't make it to the San Deigo Comic Con to see this, here it is. Please feel free to squee. A lot. :o)http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/...
Scrool half way down for the footage.
It's a great trailer, immediately capturing the feel of what looks to be a solid adaptation of the book. Of course, it might take a while to get used to the series stars not looking exactly like the characters in the comic, but we have all done that before with other shows and films. Totally psyched!

Yea it came out August 5, 2010 It is pretty good.
The Trailer up right now on AMC is scary good. I'm beyond excited. It's making me change my plans on Halloween. Originally planned on being in Sleepy Hollow NY for some frights, now I'm moving that up by 2 weeks to prepare for Zombification.
I have never read the walking dead comics but I've heard amazing things about them. Zombies are going to be at the top for horror soon. Now that they are gonna make a series about them (suck it twilight)
I cannot wait for the series. I have been following it every step of the way, and I must say... It looks quite amazing! Besides, Zombies are the best. Twilight can just die.
I have a buddy who enjoyed three days on set as a zombie extra. He's geeked because he's in parts of the trailer (one of the zombies climbing up on the tank). He said it was a blast and the director was really great to everyone, so... uh... guess what I'm saying is there were a lot of friendly people and good vibes during the shoot. Go, zombies! And go, AMC!
I CANNOT wait for this! Halloween can not come soon enough :DI haven't yet had the pleasure of reading The Walking Dead...(it is on my ever-growing to read list). But my boyfriend is absolutely crazy for it. Gotta push some books to the background to make room before then!
For anyone who hasn't read the Walking Dead series, definitely do, I promise you won't be let down. And the fact that Frank Darabont developed the tv series is such a seal of quality that I'm sure it can't fail.I'm not sure if anyone linked to it already, but they have a great official blog up for the series here:
