     I finished this one and am kind of on the fence about it. On one hand I am curious about Declan's fathers death and what DCI Monroe knows, on the other hand I felt like I plodded along through the story at points. This may be a case where the series improves with further books.

   I agree with AngryGreyCat that the story plods. I also found that the characters fell flat for me. I would give the author another try, though

     Well, I read it, and while I have to admit that the author did flag up their switcheroo before the end, on the whole it was rather a 'was that it'? moment when the story ended.

My e-copy includes the 2nd in the series so I'll see how that goes. (not just the opening chapter, honest).
