Howard Hill | 1 comments A childrens book about Native American fables how the great lakes originated, were shaped as they are, and came to exist in NA folklore. I read this as a child in the 60's. I was fascinated by the characterization of the lakes as people or non-lake subjects (Lake Huron is depicted as a person carrying a pack of firewood or something on his back.
In my recollection there was something unique about the author's name, but it may have just been as simple as that it was similar to my own.
I remember it after 60 years as a beatiful book with wonderful drawings.
