Thank you, Linda, for sharing your reading experience with all three novels. I've heard similar reactions to yours about Diop's novel so it's good to keep it in mind if it wins the poll. It was featured on quite a few award lists but I never read him. The Booker prize for Galgut's novel was applauded as well-deserved on our other forum (TM&TG) and earlier this year I read the most recent novel by Dusapin which I loved and can only imagine that her Winter in Sokcho could also be a good read indeed.
A quick update that there is still one more week left to vote. Currently Winter in Sokcho has a slight lead over The Promise.
The last day to vote until midnight PDT (7 am GMT). It's a tie between Winter in Sokcho and The Promise. Let's try to avoid a tie-breaker round!
After a close run, our winner is Winter in Sokcho by Elisa Shua Dusapin. Thank you all for voting, discussion will start on August 15th.
Thank you for fixing the date glitch, Hugh.
