Hello and welcome to another reading wrap up! As a reminder, this year I’ve decided to partake in the PopSugar Reading Challenge, which is a set of 50 prompts which you read a book to match, so I’ll be including those prompts and my progress in these wrap ups. For more info check this website: https://www.popsugar.com/entertainmen....
I’m currently at 22/50 for the PopSugar Challenge.
Now onto the Wrap Up!

This month I read…

Beloved by Toni Morrison- This one was a hard read, but I expected that. The writing is dense, but very very well done and the topic is also very emotionally heavy. I did really enjoy it though and the last parts read smoother for me as I got used to the writing style. Definitely a classic and important read.
This was for the Popsugar Prompt: An Anisfield-Wolf Book Award winner.

Archenemies and Supernova by Marissa Meyer- I listened to both these on audio. These were both good additions to the trilogy. The second was definitely one of those set up middle books that is needed to take you from the beginning to the end, but it was still good. The ending I think was the best (and in way worst, haha) part. I love how Meyer kind of left it up to the reader's interpretation as to which group (renegades/anarchists) were right or wrong. Or at least I got the sense she did, especially reading the epilogue. And oh man the epilogue. She left so much wide open there could be a whole other trilogy in this world and it left me wanting so much more.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid- I really enjoyed this story. Reid is still on the favorite authors list after this one. I will say I didn't like the style of this one as much as Malibu Rising though. The interview felt odd at some points and I feel like there were some things lacking slightly with it. There are ways in which it felt like it added to the story though too.
This was for the Popsugar Prompt: A book whose title begins with the last letter of your previous read (I read this right after I finished Beloved).

If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales and Cale Dietrich- This was just a big fat ok. Definitely teenage romance. Honestly, I could have done with just the romance though. This book at its core was that, but tried to do so much more touching on abusive parents, a controlling music industry, drug issues, etc. Not that this would be a problem per se, but this book just fell flat on those topics and only touched the surface of them.
This was for the Popsugar Prompt: A book about a band or musical group.

The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood- This was one of the absolute cutest romances I have read in a while. I gobbled it so fast. I loved the main characters, but the side characters (except one who has a large part in the plot) were forgettable and generic. This didn’t take anything from the story for me though, as I was just absolutely sucked in with the romance, plot, and main characters. Loved the STEM/Academia setting too. If you like contemporary romance, I highly recommend this.
This was for the Popsugar Prompt: A book with a character on the ACE spectrum.
