I didn't trust these cops from the beginning and when the file was so incomplete I knew that someone there was dirty.
I wasn't sure what their problem was. They seemed bent out of shape that the FBI was asking questions. It was a cold case since they never made an arrest. I'd think they would have been happy to hand it off. And, as Anita mentioned, when we learned the file was incomplete, I figured the cops were hiding something.
During the meeting, I thought Chavez was just being an ass and that was confirmed when Douglas joined him. But when Lucy and Nate got the file, I was convinced one of them was dirty. I knew it could only be one because they would have discussed that after Lucy and Nate left.
I was on the fence. At first I was thinking that they were just upset, but some of the comments they made made me think otherwise.I agree, the missing files were a big red flag.
Like Melissa, I was on the fence about the cops. Lucy has worked through local cops with bad FBI experiences in the past. This group acts like the typical small-town cop with an ax to grind. The missing files were a big red flag, but I still thought it was sloppy police work or they were playing a game with Lucy and Nate. The second time they were followed, I knew there were some bad cops involved
