Alex Vogel (alex_vogel) | 11 comments Hi everyone,

I read this book many years ago while being a teenager, after skimming through the bookshelf of my then 15 year old friend. So I'm quite sure this was pretty much officially a YA thriller. I did enjoy the read a lot and would like to repeat it, so perhaps anyone can help with the title.

Besides it being very gripping I recall the following: It was a 1st person POV account of a young man of around 20 who for some reason got in trouble with an older guy in a deserted area in nature. And this guy was then trying to kill the boy. Who was hiding at some point in the woods entirely naked. I cannot recall as to how and why he lost his clothes (perhaps he washed himself in a creek and then the antagonist appeared and he had to flee). But this I recall very vividly, that he was naked out in the wild and this man was pretty much hunting to kill him. It was set in the US (I think that I read it in German, but even of that I'm not entirely sure) and the plot takes place - and was written - before any kind of mobile phones etc were around - likely in the 70s or 80s.

Any ideas?

Alex Vogel (alex_vogel) | 11 comments 🙂👍 I had little hope that someone would know it and now I find out that it was popular school reading back in the day. Anyway, I'm looking forward to revisit it.
