But why do all that work to separate, make a new edition, and recombine vs filling out one form with a link?

I don't know if we can suggest to give at least to superlibrarians the ability to edit/delete ISBNs and ASINs, that would speed up things like this maybe.

I did mention that I can't do it myself anymore in the initial contact message.
(asked them to fix a truncated ISBN with no merge target after I realised not even supers can)

Ok, I used the Contact form then.

I put this suggestion in the message as well. Goodreads trusts superlibrarians, I think they could have this ability back. Maybe they don't want to overload them, I don't know.

I was just offering to do that in this instance, which I should have been more clear about. I did not mean to imply that more work was preferable.

Ah ...yeah on case by case basis it makes sense. I was reading that more of a general work around rather than dealing with support.
I've rarely had an issue requesting help through the contact us form, even if it is a "librarian" type issue

the ASIN probably came from Amazon where a used copy of the book was maybe sold
it's clearly not a "Kindle edition" from 1958
I'm not able to simply delete the ASIN anymore. Please help me
thank you
