SOLVED. UK Fantasy/ Supernatural 1990s childrens book summary within. [s]

Greetings fellow humans :)

So brief summary to save some time!

Published anytime before early 1990s (I believe I read it 93/94)

(Poorly) Remembered details;

A Child (cannot remember gender) is given/inherits/finds several toys/gifts/artifacts which in using/throwing/dropping "somewhere" give them "good things" in return (or specific things in return)

There is one of these artifacts which shouldn't be used but they of course do anyway, leading to something bad, I remember a huge storm/darkness/evil "something"

I have a vague recollection of some of the items being a tin whistle, horse but sadly as with most of this I cannot be sure.

Not sure why this has been stuck in my head of late, but am hugely thankful of any help.
Currently I've been doing endless searching through 'similar books..' on goodreads, vast scrolling through abebook lists and even hunting through charity shops.

I believe I read the book in England, but may have also been Southern Ireland ( I moved a lot as a child/young adult)
