YA non fiction romance & coming of age 3-part series. I read around 2006-2009. each book follows 1 of the 3 main characters from a friend group of young teen girls. I remember one of the girls names was Hudson, the daughter of a popstar, who lived in her mothers shadow. She wanted to play soulful jazz music, and I believe she played at the school dance. Hudson is a Black girl, as described in the book, and as shown on the cover. Each book cover has all three girls standing with their back to the viewer and side by side. The other two girls were redheaded and (maybe) blonde. Each girl went to some charmed school together.
