Kelsey (kelseyxrae) | 17 comments Read between 1996-2001. This was actually a series of at least 3-4 books, about girls in the US who shared some sort of magical backpack or other magic thing, maybe a journal? They would write in it or get chosen for some sort of missions by an entity that I think was supposed to be an Angel but the books weren't really otherwise religious iirc. They would get magically whooshed to their mission place where they had to figure out how to help people with fairly little guidance from their angel, and in the process would realize how to solve whatever problem they were having at home.
One of them involved going to Australia and I think had a blue cover with like stars on it and I thought it had "Didgeridoo" in the title but it might have been Kangaroo or some other Australian reference. The titles were, I think, all rhyming or punny (no, it's not the Magic Treehouse series.)

Another I remember the girl went to Northern Ireland, and they spoke Irish in the book and talked about the Troubles; and another one I remember they went to Kenya and met some Masai people. I think there was a plot point where the girl got hit in the head with a coconut immediately upon arrival and a boy character is mad at her for getting hit for whatever reason, but I don't remember which book it was.
