Kade Gulluscio (kadebraylen) | 3757 comments Lifeguard book ideas;

Heat Stroke (Beach Kingdom, #2) by Tessa Bailey - 230ish pages
Sink or Swim (Beach Kingdom, #3) by Tessa Bailey -178 pages
Mouth to Mouth (Beach Kingdom, #1) by Tessa Bailey - 158
The Alpha's Lifeguard- Kissed Omega (Alpha Kissed #6) by Lorelei M. Hart -129
Deeper (Lifeguards, #1) by Blue Ashcroft -172
Lifeguard by James Patterson
Two Scoops by Wendy Dalrymple - 123

If no one wants to read any, I can probably do the last book on audio on scrib’d. Lol

Kade Gulluscio (kadebraylen) | 3757 comments Quick question yall. For the prompts that are a word in text, goes it have to be the exact word by itself or can it be part of another word? For example - arrow. This book has “sparrow” - would that work since it technically has arrow?

Or if the word is say Apple, but in my book I have “apples” as plural, can that count?

I would think that plurals would be ok, but maybe ask in the Q&A section?

Yep. Alaina said if it's part of a bigger word, it still counts

message 209: by Kade (new)

Kade Gulluscio (kadebraylen) | 3757 comments did anyone say they were doing flipflops or did i imagine that? lol.

I just finished food in title. and we have sunglasses, 7 8 9, lifeguard and teacher all claimed right? or did we need teacher done since midnight library went to lifeguard?

if those are all set then we only have;
-book has a map
-set in tropical location
-seasonal name
-tagged sports
-YA Weapon on cover
-book bf list

i can probably do these in the next day or two.
-one name author
-seasonal name

message 210: by Kade (new)

Kade Gulluscio (kadebraylen) | 3757 comments so i had started listening to this audiobook to fill the lifeguard prompt, but it's all set, so can anyone helkp me try to fit it in somewhere i may be missing? haha ., i can't figure out where it's based from to see if it can fit "tropical location".
Two Scoops by Wendy Dalrymple

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) | 3944 comments Found something quick for the middle name one this time and hopefully I'll be able to dive into the The City of Ember series for the next round. Substitutions were approved in the Q&A, though, so people with trickier middle names could also consider that

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) | 3944 comments Do we know if the 7,8,9 in pub date can be any edition or has to be default edition? The book I'm currently reading has one edition published on 8/27/19 but it's not the default or the edition I'm reading. Either for this round or next one.

I think we can use every edition for this task.

Ta || bookishbluehead (bookishbluehead) | 648 comments Kade wrote: "do we count florida beaches as "somewhere tropical" ;x"

Personally I would, for me it is. :D But I'm from Germany, so Alaina might think differently.

message 217: by Kade (new)

Kade Gulluscio (kadebraylen) | 3757 comments I agree lol. I’ve never been to Florida, so I don’t know exactly what their beaches look like, but yeah. The audiobook I just finished Could for the tropical prompt if we consider Florida beaches tropical.

The book also mentions the male MC taking a job at bondi beach in Australia and needing to travel there once in awhile. So that part may fit it too?

Okay then I have it covered for next round.

Ta || bookishbluehead (bookishbluehead) | 648 comments I finished the book for author's first name beginning with Z and book from Alys favorites, which was the start of a series and amazing and I definitely want to continue, so we'll have this category covered.

message 220: by Celia (new)

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) | 3944 comments What do we need right now?

message 221: by Ta || bookishbluehead (last edited Aug 10, 2022 12:16PM) (new)

Ta || bookishbluehead (bookishbluehead) | 648 comments These are the categories that we still need according to our review-thread:

- Flip Flops on cover
- One name author (no surname/family name) ->according to the spreadsheet Kade is reading a book for that task
- Book is off the first page of the Best Book Boyfriends lis -> Andy's reading for this task
- Book is within the first 25 books on the YA Weapon on Cover list
- MC is a teacher
- Features a character with a seasonal name
- Celebrates a birthday

I can read something from Andrea's changed my life shelf. There are quite a few books on there, that I have on my TBR.

Okay, no problem. :) I'll edit my post above, so we'll have an accurate list.

YES!!!! After this series, there's a sequel series about the couples' kids that's also amazing

message 226: by Celia (new)

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) | 3944 comments I might be able to get "celebrates a birthday" depending on how much of a factor it needs to be in the book. My next BR, Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed has a mention of a flashback of bringing in a treat to celebrate a birthday at school when MC was younger. If this counts then I'll take it.

I don't have a book for either category, for me they are both hard for me. :D Maybe let's wait and see if someone else can find a book for teacher in this round and use Midnight Library if no one can find anything?

I do read and want to read more teacher books generally, but don't really have any on the radar right now. I'm also guessing I have a few cozy mysteries that may have lifeguards, and I could potentially lend them to people with the Kindle lending function if anyone wants to try them as well (though some of them may be free on Amazon). Let me look.

I've already used The Midnight Library by Matt Haig on the "mentions a lifeguard" task. We can't use the same book twice, right?

YA weapon book
flip-flops on cover
teacher
seasonal name

sounds like the others are pending being claimed, and those aren't yet right?

i'm finishing up my one name author book tonight hopefully. i did look on the ya weapon list, and i honestly didn't find anything i could tolerate anytime soon, haha. i haven't seen muchy for flipflops that i'd want to read either.

i can do the seasonal name one soon.... and i could definitely do teacher asap if no one else wants to.
