SOLVED. YA Fantasy series about people who randomly turn into miniature people. [s]

YA series that I read in 2010-2013. I didn't finish the series so I don't know the plot of all the books. I remember reading one of the books where a young man is on an airplane, he goes to the airplane bathroom, looks at his reflection in the mirror and sees his reflection in his irises. He notices he looks different and feels off in the eyeball reflection. He then is suddenly falling out of the plane and lands in an alien world with giant trees. I believe he was naked. SPOILERS: Turns out there are a bunch of people who have turned into minature humans for some reason, and the alien world is just the normal outside world but turned giant for these little people. I don't remember any other details of the plot. I don't remember the cover of the book or the author's name or gender.
