I liked it. It added a little suspense to the story. I was expecting that Nola was going to be a problem for Pandora and Gabriel would have to grovel. I'm not a big fan when the heroine listens to gossip, or walks by and misinterprets an encounter with an ex.
I liked it too. I like Historical Romance, but I always love it when there is a mystery/suspense element.
At first it felt a little contrived but the more I thought about it, I figured this was to set up Ethan’s story. The Scotland Yard corruption may still be dangerous for him. And, he’s now connected to the Ravenels. Then it made more sense.
I liked the addition of this story. Since Gabriel and Pandora were married by the middle of the book, I was afraid the ex-mistress was going to come between them. I'm happy that didn't happen.Yes, I believe this was a set-up for the next book.
