When Pandora first meets Sebastian, she muses that he’s the father figure she and Cassandra had yearned for as children. Your thoughts about their childhood?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments It was obvious from the first book in this series, that the children were starved for love. They were a burden to their parents. It was very sad.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Their own parents ignored them and left them alone with the servants in the country much of the time. This was a very dysfunctional family.

This made me want to cry. As young children, they knew their father was deficient and that’s a hard reality at that age.

Starved for affection is the right word. Breaks my heart.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments The Ravenels girls were ignored by both of their parents. None of them were given love or attention. I'm not surprised that they would look at some men and women and wish they had been their parents.
