LillianaPassions | 746 comments Hi Kat. We have another question about greys. Some greys are blue-greys but only seen as greys by tiny-eye.
Like this cover A Lone Star Christmas (Christmas, #1) by William W. Johnstone .
50% grey and 27% blue.

See here tiny-eye link https://labs.tineye.com/color/2528406...

Will you accept those greys as blues ?

One of those grays is more blue and the other is more white. Unfortunately, the white one is bigger than both the other and the blue. I would say that cover is primarily white/grey.

MountainKat | 31684 comments Hi all, we had a house project that kept growing and has been taking a lot of my time the last few days. I think I've almost finished and parts of my house are really clean - so there's that...

I have started checking books in the SH thread, and will work to get caught up there and then start checking the team threads. Hopefully, I will get caught up soon. 🤞🏼

LillianaPassions | 746 comments Hi Kat !
Good luck for you house project, I know it could be hard living in project mess 😬

I have a question for you : I claimed a SH but it is really recent (published less than 10 days) and it is tagged as western-romance, romance but not yet in Romance main genre.

Does it count ? Or how could this be tagged ?
A Secret Baby for the Grumpy Cowboy

Thank you

All books have to be MPG Romance to count for this challenge. You are allowed to tag books as romance after the date begins and if it shows as MPG Romance before the date ends, you would need to repost to claim the book.

ETA: It was a stupid little project - we needed to move the china cabinet over an inch and a half so we could fit a new recycling bin beside it. But that meant emptying it completely and since everything was out we needed to clean the cabinet and all that goes in it. And then, we couldn't put the fake plant back in place without cleaning it - and if I'm going to one, I'm going to do them all. But to do that, I would have to clear the other cabinets that have plants on them. That lead to more cleaning... Stupid little project that went on for several days - but it's done and lots of cleaning that needed to be done anyway finally got done. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MountainKat | 31684 comments Date 4 - H - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 4.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the book details or cover - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

H is for Habiliment - Read a book with a fully clothed cover model.

To qualify for this task, the cover of your selected books need to show a fully clothed cover model. If the cover model is a man, he must be wearing a closed shirt (neck can be unbuttoned, but not the whole shirt) and pants at a minimum. If the cover model is a female, she must be fully dressed - not in lingerie or with the dress/shirt undone. Shoes are required if the feet show. If there are more than one cover model, only one must be fully clothed.

H is for Hades - Read a book that is MPG Paranormal.

To qualify, the selected book needs to have 'Paranormal', 'Paranormal Romance' or 'Fantasy' as a Main Page Genre.

H is for ??? - ???

To be revealed when the date begins.

H is for Humdinger - Read a book with an average GR rating of 4.3 or higher.

To qualify for this task, the average rating for your selected book needs to be 4.3 or higher. This information can be found on the main book page under the title. Please include the average rating in your completion post. If the average rating is likely to change over the course of the date, i.e. the book is new or has few ratings, it might be advisable to take a screen shot. Also, if your rating is significantly lower than the average, perhaps wait to rate the book until after the date ends.

message 164: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31684 comments Just a reminder to make sure your books are MPG Romance BEFORE you read them!! There are NO exceptions to that rule for this challenge.

When I am checking books, if it is not MPG Romance - I look at nothing else because the book does not qualify for this challenge. So just because you tag it as romance and it shows as MPG before the date ends, that is no guarantee that the book will work for the task or that you have the correct page count because I have not checked those details.

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Hey Kat! I have a couple of questions regarding Habiliment.

Does the cover model need to be full body, or can we assume pants are worn if the top half is fully dressed: Murder House (PsyCop, #10) by Jordan Castillo Price

Also, does a kilt work, as long as a shirt is worn with it? The Devilish Lord Will (MacKenzies & McBrides, #10) by Jennifer Ashley

Thanks!

You do not need to see the full body, but what is shown needs to be fully dressed. Head shots only will not work though.

Period or culturally appropriate clothing will be allowed. In answer to your question, a kilt would work as long as the cover model is wearing at least a shirt with it.

Hi Kat - along these lines, if the shirt is a tshirt, or open collared and buttoned but not all the way, will that still work for 'dressed'?

Eg
Dragon Ever After (Here Be Dragons, #1) by Louisa Masters ? Hunter's Creek (Hunter's Creek #1) by Victoria Sue ?

Both of those covers would work. The neck can be open on the shirt, but not completely unbuttoned. Think of the difference between getting dressed and heading out for the day (good) versus coming home and undressing, shirt and/or pants unbuttoned (not good).

Basically if the cover model could walk into a restaurant and get served, the cover should work.

No, the cover model does not need to be a real person. Cartoonish covers will work as long as they are fully clothed.

No, the hidden task will not be the called task for any date. It is only used for the Scavenger Hunt.

There were some issues a couple of rounds ago with books being tagged so they worked for SH, but many of these tags seemed false. The hidden task was the solution to attempt to keep the challenge as fair as possible.

From the qualifications for the task:

To qualify for this task, the title, précis, list or tags of the selected books would need to indicate that the book has an MC that works in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

So, it doesn't have to be modern, but books have to have a main character who works in a STEM field - even though they weren't identified as such until recently in the grand scheme of things.
