SOLVED. Kids chapter book about a classroom with no teacher. [s]

I read this book probably 15 years ago, I imagine it was published well before that, though not earlier than 1980, probably.

The story involves kids in a elementary classroom, and their teacher does not come in that day. Due to some snafu, the substitute teacher doesn't show up either. The kids try to hide the fact they have no teacher and make it through the school day alone. Some kids want to tell the truth, learn stuff, etc, and others just want to goof off.

Almost certainly. The other one that comes up with this theme is Class Dismissed, but that one is way too new.
