Phil | 196 comments I'm trying to find out the name of a novel that centred around a community of people who lived underground long after civilization collapsed and began to explore the further reaches of their world. The description made it clear that they had no idea there was a world above them, and the cover featured a rowboat from the front moving along flooded man-made tunnels.

Emily | 140 comments Approximately what year did you read it? If it was a while ago, that can narrow it down a lot.

The City Underground came to mind when I read your description.

Phil | 196 comments I came across the book about three years ago. I can’t remember what actually caused them to move underground.

Andy Phillips | 240 comments This doesn't quite fit, but it has the boat on the cover and some similarities. It's based on people living in a MASSIVE building, rather than underground. However, some of these people have so many floors above them and so many rooms all around them that they never see the outside world etc.

Phil | 196 comments Yes, that's it! Thanks Andy!

Andy Phillips | 240 comments Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Glad you found it!

It's quite an interesting idea about a city that slowly moves across the landscape. I know that crops up in other books, but it's the first time I came across it.
