I gave it four stars and I enjoyed it. I would recommend this book if you are interested in WW2 stories.
I don't know I haven't watched the film yet. If I do in 2015 I'll try to remember to post my opinion on here! The story is indeed very moving and very sad.
The 4th book for 2015 was a book about the liberation of The Netherlands 1945-1950 Na de bevrijding: De loodzware jaren 1945-1950 The first part of the book was a bit boring because I knew many things from history lessons in school. The second part contained new information for me and was interesting to read. Glad I borrowed it from the library instead of buying it! 300+ pages
I've finally finished Amsterdam: geschiedenis van de meest vrijzinnige stad ter wereld A complete history of the city of Amsterdam. 400+ pages.

I don't think this book was translated in English, Becca. He wrote it to explain more about the period after the liberation of The Netherlands. A tv program was also made: http://www.nadebevrijding.nl/ (This is also in Dutch unfortunately). Another interesting book by Ad van Liempt is Hitler's Bounty Hunters: The Betrayal of the Jews
I finished reading Exil in Sjanghai today. Finally another fictional work. I enjoyed this book because it was based on the true story of jews fleeing to Shanghai during WW2. 400+ pages again
Margriet, that book is on my TBR. Do you mind sharing what you did not like about the book? I might remove it from my list!
If I owned the Hillary Clinton book I would keep it and try again later but since it is a library book I am going to return it. The book goes into a lot of details about her live and the things she did while serving in the Obama administration. After 100+ pages it still only discusses Asia... Kassandra you might still want to try it if you are more patient than I am.
I've finally read a novel! Caramelo by Sandra Cisneros or ' Een huid van karamel' in Dutch. It took me a while for sure but it was entertaining. 500+ pages
While on holiday I've read Stasi-kinderen So I added it to my list when I had reliable wifi again. Quite a serious book for the summer but very interesting!
was the other one I took to Greece and I finished the first half of it.
My holiday is over and I am back in The Netherlands. Today I read the last chapter of Tranen van de giraffeI will now continu to read
Last week I finished reading De baby's van Mauthausen This is my 10th book for 2015. Probably I'm not going to meet my goal of 20 books, but a few more books for this year, who knows!
Today I finished De Premier 200+ pages. Will I be able to finish another book in 2015? December is a busy month
I did manage to finish another book in 2015! Schoolland 262 pagesThis means I read 5004 pages in total this year! Woohoo!
See you in 2016!
