How could he say he was a black woman? It is one thing to make a mistake in a debate when you have to say something and have had as mental blackout, but surely not knowing who you are after preparation for the speech must be orders of magnitude worse?

He's stringing together sentence fragments. He could have meant that he served as VP to the first black President and his VP is the first black woman VP. But he just vomited out, "I was..."

It's also possible that in-line with "her" administration's stated policies, Uncle Joe has decided to become Aunt Jackie.

Notice in the Stephanopolis interview that he never said he would undergo cognitive testing and reveal the results to the public. When asked whether he would resign if powerful Democrats asked him to, he said he wouldn't answer that question. The funny part was when George asked him to respond to low polling numbers and criticism from his party, and he replied, "That's the press." He's getting a dose of what Trump has faced for years from the mainstream media. Now they've turned on him. What goes around comes around :-)

The problem for the Dems is that with all the fuss over that terrible debate performance, and the reminders by people like George Clooney, anyone who could vote either wasy will now not vote Dem, and those who are favourable to the Dems and don't like Trump won't vote. In my opinion, Joe can't win. The only real question is when will he realize that and do the decent thing for the party?

If you scroll back to the start of the year, you'll find posts about the DNC moving primary dates around to favor Joe. The Democratic Party in Florida decided to just give him their delegates, so registered Dems in the Sunshine State didn't even get a vote.

But that is nothing new for Joe. His previous runs at the White House failed because he is a liar and a plagiarist. When I call him a plagiarist, I don't mean simply using other people's words without attribution. That's what he did to RFK. Joe infamously plagiarized part of a speech by Neil Kinnock in which Mr. Kinnock was speaking about his own family's history. Yeah, Uncle Joe claimed someone else's family history as his own. Yet, people were surprised when he claimed his Uncle was eaten by cannibals.

The Democrats are being hoisted by their own petard. they had the chance of running a true primary and they rigged it for Biden. Now they have Biden, they do not want him. He is going to lose and there are no back benchers that can save them. They should have run a true primary. The Democrats scream they have to save democracy from Trump, but it is their doings that look undemocratic to me.

The way he's sweating and seems short of breath makes me wonder if they gave him some uppers.

But they're just now reporting what everyone else knew about two months ago. A recent poll put Trump within 7 points in deep blue Rhode Island. And the last poll out of New Jersey put Trump ahead by one point! Recent internal polling from the Democrats leaked out and it showed Colorado to be a toss up - a state that's been trending bluer and bluer, and the Democrats see it moving back to purple!

Since the debate, Biden participated in that disastrous interview with Stephanopolous, and the press conference he just had didn't change perception. When he was at his most coherent, he came across as angry. When he was at his worst, he thought Trump was his vice president. And his final words of the night when a reporter pointed out Trump was already commenting on his "gaffs" of the night were "listen to him." It's obvious the debate wasn't a one-off bad performance.

You know, I would even be willing to write off the Putin/Zelensky and Trump/Harris things as slips, but toward the end of the debate, I think it was the next to last question in the middle of the answer Biden starts yelling about kids dying by gun violence. And that wasn't even the substance of the question - he just goes from Jekyll to Hyde and all of us sort of did a double take.
Also - he had the questioners picked in advance and one in the room said - "Wonder if he had the questions in advance to, so he could be prepped."

NY post has the video. Looks like the shooter was to his right, shooting across the stage and not at the crowd. There are reports others were hurt, but it probably could have been a lot worse if the shooter was somewhere else.
