Hi guys! I recently came across a collection of amazing quotes from Chuck Palahniuk, and I'm now looking to read my first ever book of his.

Any recommendation for a good book to start with, a good intro to his oeuvre? Here's the link to his quotes, by the way.

Thanks!

Personally I really like Diary.

Fight Club is a great starting point too, but it follows the movie (at least in tone and spirit) quite closely, so if you've seen it already maybe starting somewhere else would be more interesting.

I've heard great things about Survivor, but it's one of the few of his I haven't read.

Survivor is easily one of the best, but I would also strongly recommend Rant.

My favorite thus far was 'Snuff', but it was fairly extreme...not for the faint of heart! :)

Start with Fight Club as every book builds off of that tone, I read his work synchronously

My first Chuck Palahniuk book was Invisible Monsters then Fight Club. In my opinion these are the best two to start with and then slowly step into his others.

Regarding the comment by David, I certainly wouldn't start with Snuff. It's nowhere near his best work and the plot is weak compared to those mentioned.

Hope that helps?

He's got a lot of good ones. Fight Club is my least favorite of his though.

if you are a boy you should i think survivor or choke will be good options, by the other hand if you are a gorgeous girl you may like beautiful you or my favorite invisible monsters, or even lullaby, but please NEVER begin your path through Palahniuk with Snuff, or stranger than fiction. <3 XOXO.
