Sounds good. I have to start over because I don't remember what I read so far!

Peter keeps mentioning what Lesley did to him at the end of the previous book. I would love to know what has become of Lesley

I also found the start to this one slower and it didn't hold my interest the way other books in the series have. After the major ending of the last book I thought for sure we would start this one off with more info on Lesley. I don't want to wait!!

Do you think the author has taken it one book too far? My son enjoys these books i must ask him what he thought but at the moment i am hoping part 2 lives up a bit more to the previous books in the series.
I am loving Beverley Brook, i can feel her sarcasm and humour - her characterisation is the best bit about the book so far.

I'm having a hard time with this one but will have the next four chapters done later today. I checked to see when the next book is scheduled to be published and Goodreads doesn't have anything listed.

My problem is that there isn't enough magic and Peter doesn't seem to be advancing in his spells. We get the same spell, a ware light, in every single book. Sorry if I misspelled that, I haven't actually read any of the books in the series to see how the word is spelled.
It reminds me of reading The Sword of Truth, Boxed Set I: Wizard's First Rule, Blood of the Fold, Stone of Tears series where the MC is a powerful war wizard who never seems to do any magic. I need more from Peter and company than a magical-lite police procedural or I might stop reading.

before chapter titled customer facing , then at end of part one, before chapter operational compartmentalisation and at end.
I like swopping views so would like to chat whilst reading. You can put spoilers in so that we don't read a clue to the story. You put a spoiler in by typing (view spoiler)[ before text to be hidden and after it
