I can't believe this week is over! Feel free to post this after you've finished reading today (Sunday). Hope you all had a great and thrilling Read-a-Thon!

1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon?
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?

Don't forget to update your plans, Individual Tracking and Challenge, and the Community spreadsheet with your reads!

LeahS | 1397 comments 1. Finished 10 books and read 3003 pages.
2. Yes, finished all the prompts. No real distractions - I had a quiet week with Covid for the first half of it, so wasn't going anywhere.
3. Yes, enjoyed finding books to fit the prompts and re-reading books I had first read years ago, since I couldn't get to the library.
4. I enjoyed The Ophelia Girls, which reminded me of being a teenager,
5. No.
6. Yes, but I like the individual challenge rather than the group one.

message 3: by L Y N N (new)

L Y N N (book_music_lvr) 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
I finished 12 books and read 3,239 pages! WOW! This being retired really helps increase my reading time! LOL

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
Yes. I was hoping to complete at least 10 books.
My biggest distractions were everyday routine necessities! Also some doctor appointments...

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
LOVED IT! I love to strategize about completing prompts! But getting to know some of the other group members better is always the most fulfilling part of these Readathons!

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon?
Oh no! I can rarely ever answer with just ONE book! LOL
I guess I'd have to rate A Psalm for the Wild-Built as my most favorite. Just difficult to beat Becky Chambers!

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I do not. I really appreciate the way the moderators organize everything. All the necessary information was in one posting, including the lists of teams/team members. I guess I have completed enough Readathons now that I am very comfortable with them...

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Just try to stop me! LOL

oshizu | 96 comments 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
I'd initially signed up for 6 books but ended up reading 10 books (2,665 pages). A delightful surprise, for sure.

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Yes. Sleep?

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
Yes, i had a blast. i enjoyed the process of our team gradually building and adding attractions for our amusement park.

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon?
Actually, I had two favorite books: Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood and A Desolation Called Peace

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I truly loved the way this team readathon's prompts were organized around the amusement park theme while allowing prompts to be repeated for extra attractions.
Suggestion: Our park had almost twice as many hot dog stands as attractions. What if we had two types of vendors?
Like, "pages read/1,000 pp) for a hot dog stand but "hours listened/x" for a vendor who sells something else (ice cream? cotton candy?).

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Yes, yes, yes. I'm looking forward to it already!

1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
4! The most I've read in a week all year. I'm not sure on pages but like a bunch.

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I really wanted to make a dent in my reading challenges and that I can say I did. Biggest distractions this week were my headaches from sinus congestion. I love spring, I just wish my body did too lol.

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
Well my favorite is the Miles of Pages, but I'm biased ;)

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon?
I think Greenglass House but it's so hard to pick!

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
Nah they're perfect in every way ;)

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Almost certainly

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I had a lot of fun. I loved the team challenge

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon?
Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read? 5 books. 1407 pages read.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? I met my goals of 5 books & completing prompts in the ATY challenge.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I had a lot of fun. I enjoyed the team & individual challenges. I always like the Miles of Pages.
4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon? Migrations
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? Add the completion tab to the spreadsheet. It was a great addition this year. I know we have a question & answer thread but how about a thread with the rules & any spreadsheet wisdom the moderators have. It can be updated by the moderators as needed then posted at the beginning of each read-a-thon. A mod only thread. It would be a good reference & easy to find. I don't have anything I would like to see more of. I enjoyed everything.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Yes. I look forward to them. Thank You to all the moderators for your hard work.

message 8: by °~Amy~° (new)

°~Amy~° (amybooksit) 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read? I finished 5 very short books for a total of 258 physical pages and 15.25 hours of audio

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Not even close. I usually double or even triple that amount of pages and time read. I found out the day prior to the readathon starting that I had a week to do a month's worth of work. We were working basically dawn to dusk, and sometimes later to get it done. As a matter of fact, I should be working right now instead of typing but my ambition level is plummeting rapidly at this point! It's going to be another late day!

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? It was fun when I got to sit down with the spreadsheet and figure out what to read next.

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon? Probably The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook, a long book that I started a few days prior to the readathon. It is part of a long series that I have been enjoying for the sheer foolishness of it.

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I think the readathons are set up well now. This one just didn't work for me.

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Absolutely

message 9: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (fancynancyt) | 1842 comments 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read? 5 books, 364 pages, 26.84 hours

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? My goal was to read 4-5 books, and get caught up on my GR goal, and I did both of those. Distractions were that this was the last week of school, and we had graduations and parties to attend. I was a little bummed the read-a-thon wasn't the original week as I would have been able to read way more.

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? Always! I loved the theme park theme, and the individual challenge was a lot easier and that was fun too.

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon? The Lost Apothecary

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? Nope, they get better every time!

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Absolutely. Hopefully the next one is during a less busy week for me!

message 10: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (jonquilles) | 192 comments 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read? including the two that I had started before the readathon (so pages only), 9 books and 1 audiobook

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? I did much better this time than last readathon so that felt nice! My very elderly dog had some health issues so that continues to my biggest roadblock in terms of time/energy

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I love these and I'm so glad I have this community to do these challenges with. Team challenges are definitely my favorite part!

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon? Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me was a last-day sprint that immediately shot up my to the top of my favorites (I should have expected that, I love Mariko Tamaki in general) but I haven't read The Westing Game since I was a kid and I was surprised at how sharp it was, I definitely didn't appreciate all its details the first time around.

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? No real suggestions beyond just a round-up at the end to see how we all did, but I love these themes and the games throughout the week.

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Always! How else would I catch up on my reading goals? :P

message 11: by Kendra (new)

Kendra | 2111 comments 1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
I read 13 books (2 of which were graphic novels that were too short to count for anything other than page numbers), and a total of 3 438 pages.

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I met most of my goals, but I had been hoping to finish 2 more of the books I was reading so I could add 2 final items to my concession stand menu. And my biggest distractions were yard work, and some drama going on at my church.

3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I really loved being able to plan a menu for the individual challenge, instead of a bingo style challenge. And as always, the miles of pages journey was awesome. Thankyou so much Jackie!

4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon?
Clap When You Land

5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
Can we please have a way to earn wild cards to fill in hard to fit prompts?

6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Yep.

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Exceeded it. The game on my phone, Goodreads, the kid, yardwork, and myself.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? Yes. Trying to get a book in where you want it before someone else put in their book.
4. What was your favorite book of the read-a-thon? Book Lovers the new one by Emily Henry.
Also, I was surprised at how much I liked Shiloh. Which had it not been for this challenge I might not have ever gotten around to reading.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? Not sure???
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Yes.
