The story is based around a boy who starts the story playing with his ring while speaking about his father being a great man but all his troubles talked upon him and the family causing them to be kicked from court and the opening of this story is of the main character in a trial. The story continues with him in the slums with a father figure who is the leader of the knights. The story has the boy not believing his father killed the previous king and this starts a Storyline. This is him trying to find out what truly happen to his father. The story has a magic system and there is different type of magic this is important because we meet an assassin who can use the shadows as magic which is harmful against light magic. The story has the ending with the main character realize he has the ability to negate other peoples powers. The ending of the story has the family squabble with 3 siblings ( 2 boys and one girl ) to be the leader of the kingdom and the main character has a meeting with his best friend speaking on how the main character will protect him and the best friend will destroy the kingdom. There is extra information such as The king killing himself since there was never a king that lived past a certain age, the mother is in care since she’s weak, there is an old rich man who can never die, the main character speaks about his family name a lot and is dealing with his father struggles. An important moment in the story is that the father figure betrays the main character and the main character figured it out in the story. Hope this helps

I remember that the main character has memories of his past hidden away from him. I hope this can get solved.

When you say, "...memories of his past hidden away from him.", do you mean he has amnesia (he can't remember for some reason / has repressed them), or do you mean something else (his memories have been taken/stolen by magic, or something like this)?

I am sorry I am new to this comment section. I read this year in 2020 and his memories were repressed. The betrayal was the death of the main character's father, which initiated the downfall of the family.
