Middle Grade Fantasy. Ghost of a Hollywood actress asks two kids to track down her stolen amulet. Read in 1980s (up to 1987).

I read this in the 80s so no newer than 1987. I want to say it was called something like the secret to being a star, or secret to being famous.

The premise is a girl (who want to be famous) and a boy meet the ghost of a golden age Hollywood actress who's lucky necklace/amulet was stolen by one of her three friends who were also trying to make it as performers. I believe one was a ventriloquist, one was a singer, and the last I think was a comedian. The ghost promises the kids that if they help her, she will reveal the three secrets to achieve fame as an artist. They are, talent, luck, and the determination to give it your all every performance - at least those were the lessons I got out of it.

This is one of those books whose life lessons have stuck with me and I'm curious to see if it was as profound as I thought. Thanks.
