I wonder if it had something to do with Mona wanting to reject being a prodigy? I still want to know why there are prodigies and why wolf shifters protect them. I mean, why?

I also really liked how Mona's mother reacted when she came home scared out of her mind about being a prodigy. She grabbed that gun and went all "get the fuck off my property" in seconds. I liked her for it because it was clear that she kind of wanted her daughter to be a prodigy but Halle was scared and she wanted to protect her first. So, yeah. Her mom's cool in my book. (view spoiler)[I still want to know the significance of prodigies and their bonds to shifters. I mean, why would a shifter even form a bond with someone that was "exceptional", a human? There's definitely something missing there. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Whitney family and their link to pack lands?

I didn't expect Halle to be bonded to two guardians. But since she can feel the emotions of the shifters when no other prodigy has been able to, it makes me wonder what is different about her and their bonds. I had pondered if maybe her bond to the female shifter was a guardian bond and maybe her bond to Theo was a mating bond? I am not sure since there really haven't been any mentions of mating bonds between shifters up to this point. (hide spoiler)]

I am thinking that Mona saying that she wanted to quit and didn't want to be a prodigy played into what happened when Jax went feral. I'm not sure how but it makes sense.

I didn't even think about Jericho as another guardian but I like that idea. I liked Jericho. The fact that she kissed him when they were kids was adorable to me. (hide spoiler)]

I really liked the journal entries. I agree that they were pretty vague but they did give us a little more to go off of. I am assuming that maybe Halle is a descendant of Eda and her prodigy? It would make sense. And I was also thinking that perhaps Jax and Mona had fallen in love and she had been newly pregnant? I mean, why would Jax just go feral like that out of the blue? The whole mate bond with Eda and her prodigy makes me wonder about Halle and Theo. It could be why their bond feels different from the one she has with Delilah. Jax and Mona are shown best friends so it won't be surprising that something happened between them and they kept it a secret since romantic relations between prodigy and their guardian weren't allowed. But I still can't make sense of how Halle became a prodigy and what her skill is!

(view spoiler)[Holy moly! That ending was something. It was so shocking to me. I expected a different turn of events, honestly. I did not expect her dad to have the water. But what is the curse really? Did it make her father hear voices? That part was a little unclear to me. And why would that be part of the curse? It makes me wonder what exactly Eda had to sacrifice for the curse in the first place.

I still expect that Halle will find out eventually that she is a descendant of Eda and her prodigy. That would make a lot of sense. And plus, if she already has shifter DNA from Eda, even if she was only human, then maybe it will turn her into a shifter with that water her dad gave her? Oh gosh, there's just so much to speculate. I'm really loving this series so far.

I knew that Broderick was a douchecanoe. Honestly, I hope he gets his comeuppance. His betrayal wasn't unexpected but it still sucked for Halle. You know, I wonder if the doctor died? I assume so.

I bet that Theo and Delilah are going mad right about now. And I am still so curious about her mate bond with Theo. I knew that there had to be a mating bond there. (hide spoiler)]

I am not sure if she will become a shifter but it's a good guess. I mean, she technically died at the end of the book and there are more books so she obviously doesn't die for real. The water must revive her in some way. I am hoping that she turns into a shifter so she can spend a full life with Theo. That would be grand. Ohh interesting. The entire prodigy system is all messed up over the feels aspect. And clearly Halle is a very important piece to making this system right agaiN. I am a little confused by how eager Halle’s mom is to let her go to the testing / etc. Is she more involved than we think?

Also - Halle mentioned that prodigies immediately figure out what their “skill” or talent will be as soon as they bond. She hasn’t. Wonder why. And Theo is an alpha which is rare in guardians / bonds.

Theo seems arrogant which I don’t love. But I suppose that’s part of being an alpha. I do recall alpha Hennessy seeking out Halle and saying she was destined for something great. So now was this all intentional?

Theo didn't come off as arrogant to me but he definitely is confident. And yeah, arrogance can come with being an alpha.

It's funny that you mentioned Alpha Hennessy seeking out Halle and telling her that she will be great. I had wondered if perhaps he was an inside man for the government or not being totally truthful about what he knew. It would suck if he turned out to be a bad guy and betraying her. (hide spoiler)]

I’m so glad Halle put the dr in his place. It really does seem like some people are not being sympathetic in how traumatic that experience was for her.

Wow. So clearly Halle is in denial that she DOES have some sort of care for Theo. She risked her life to save his. Now did her prodigy mark burn when she jumped because Theo was in danger or because she risked herself?

“Break it a thousand times over if you have to,” Theo growled. “I want to see Halle, now.”. Oh my heart.

Hold the hell up. The feral wolf is cured and bonded to Halle too? How?!
And so my suspicion was right. Heath is bad news. And Halle is a pawn.

Delilah’s prodigy killed himself? I can understand that effect on her. Oof. So is this where Halle’s harem starts? Lol

And so it wasn’t normal for the prodigy to feel the shifters / guardians emotions? I would have thought it was too.

I suspected Cato was hiding something but it was totally unexpected. I didn't think it would be this huge! He touched the same hand on Jax's back that he dipped in the water. I was wondering what was the catalyst that set it off but I couldn't have guessed this!

Halle is Theo's mate? I mean, I knew his feelings were romantic towards her more than a guardian should feel.

I hated Health from the first moment he showed up at her house. And I also kinda not liked Dr. Douglas and suspected him. But it turned out he wasn't all that bad.
