Part 1: The First Encounter of Legendborns (Thoughts and Theories??)

If you have not read through Part 1 of Legendborn there will be some spoilers!

Okay, let's help each other out. There is a lot to unpack here! First off, I am already in love with this book. Second off, WHO THE HECK ARE THESE LEGENDBORNS. Also, love me a secret society.

1. We have learned Sel has something that I am relating to coercion, called mesmer. However Bree seems to be somewhat immune to it, or at least can counteract its effect through experiencing pain. I don't know why but I love when authors include coercion magic within their magic systems. I just think its so cool.

2. When Sel was introduced did ANYBODY else think of Ruhn? 😆

3. We have a lot of terms going on here like, page, kingsmage, merlin and lots of references to King Arthur and the Round Table. Did anyone else catch the mention of Valkyries from Norse which is also used in ACOTAR 🤗 We also have Nick, who is the boy with a self rejected legacy... until now.

Part 1 has some overwhelming information that I am still trying to process in my head. What do you all think? Also is anyone familiar with King Arthur, the Round Table? Unfortunately I am not, and I feel this would be very helpful with understanding the plot. Help.
