The cycle of fire

“It was past sundown by then. I found the flint and struck it over the waiting tinder as I had seen Glaucos do so often, but never attempted myself. It took me several tries, and when the flames began to catch and spread at last, I felt a novel satisfaction." — Page 89, Chapter 7.

It's interesting to see the cycle by which, the fire that mortals learnt to create as a gift from Prometheus gets learnt by an immortal (Circe) as a gift from a mortal (Glaucos).

There seems to be a pattern of Circe nurturing and taking care of people, who, once develop a strong and 'powerful' identity, leave Circe by herself as she is no longer of use (or benefit let's say) to them. This happened with Circe's younger brother Aeëtes who left once Helios promised him his own kingdom and with Glaucos who left once he was transformed in a God and found himself a positive, important reputation among the other immortals.

I wonder if this situation will occur again and confirm the pattern. If it does, I'm sure the development of Circe's identity will affect the pattern somehow, maybe it will even break off this pattern of people leaving her since a great reason for the latter, is that she's not considered worth enough (yet).
