Despite his brutish persona, Rhys is surrounded by people who seem to be extremely loyal to him (Mrs. Fernsby, Quincy, Dr. Havelock). What about him inspires that loyalty?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Rhys is honest and fair. He treats all people with respect and dignity.

Phrynne | 14 comments I agrre with Anita. He is always fair and he believes in people.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with you all. It is too hard for people who are not in "the betters" category to find employment that will pull them out of poverty. Rhys gives his team positions that make them proud and confident. It is hard not to be loyal, if you can hold your head up high and feel good about yourself.

Ditto for me. He judges people based on their character and rewards them accordingly. They in turn are some of those people who never would have had a similar opportunity and are deeply grateful. That inspires loyalty, which he also returns. Rhys is at his core an honorable man.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Totally agree with everyone.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I agree with everyone also.
