A Brief Mythology and History

The Seven Gods, Also called Vivdieux (Vividieu, singular)

Rei- god of kings and life
Created the royal bloodline and protects it
Dei- god of the ocean and trade
Created the ocean and protects merchants
Mei- former goddess of gifts, now goddess of betrayal
Created witches
Lei- god of death and sorrow
Created a place for the dead to live
Bei- goddess of family
Protects families
Cei- goddess of romantic love
Ships people basically
Pei- god of change
Neither male nor female, heralds great change

How Witches Came to Be:
When Rei created life, he blessed one bloodline (the royal one) to take care of the rest of humanity and rule over it. One day, the goddess Mei sought to overthrow Rei and blessed a small group of people with powers. They were the first witches. When Rei heard of this, he banished Mei from Le Palais des Dieux (Palace of Gods), and tasked the royal family, his chosen ones, with destroying the witches.

The Birth of the Gods

Long ago, there was simply light. A bright, bright light that filled the space of the universe, every crack and cranny. And out of the light was born Sei, the god of the sun. Sei was a creative soul, and wanted company. He created the Earth out of light, and the people created the country of Viviante. The people were lawless and cruel, and ran around wild while Sei watched. Sei decided to create gods to rule over the Earth and started the Vividieux, a group of gods that controlled Viviante.

From this group rose Rei, god of life, and he saw that the gods were too detached from the people. The gods could have supreme authority, but the humans would only listen to their own kind. So he blessed one bloodline with the power to rule. Sei argued with Rei, and Rei overthrew Sei, casting him into the L'endroit le Plus Sombre, the Darkest Place, where only the dead live. Rei proclaimed himself the god of kings.
