Pam | 6 comments My mother read this to me in about 1967-68. Book may be much older. Book was red, only black pencil drawings. Not many pictures. Several stories to the book. One in particular, an Eskimo boy having to hunt for he and his family. Don’t remember any other stories within the book.

Rainbowheart | 28640 comments What age was it intended for, roughly?

Was the school reader part of a curriculum your mother had access to?

If you have any idea of who the publisher might have been, that could help.

Emily Wood | 66 comments I had a school reader called something like 'Oona's lucky day' about a boy who catches a walrus. He might not have been called Oona, but it was something like that. It had a bluey-green cover with a big picture of the boy with his sledge and the walrus on it. It was just a single story, but it might have been the same one extracted from your book?
