At any rate, we got a little Austen-esque letter writing from Mina and Lucy on May 11th.
Has everyone gotten to them yet?
Oh! And we have a Spider-Man appearance!

I skipped back and forth in the audiobook. It was slightly fiddly but my eyes are not happy with reading from a screen too much so I don’t want to read the text from the emails.

Too bad I don’t do Twitter"
I had no idea, but I am now! Thanks for posting that.

I think it's because of the delivery time. They would not have arrived the same day they were written. There doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to that, and I have no idea how long it took for mail to get from any particular point to another at that time, but that's what I always thought explained the wonkiness of the dates in the timeline.
I like that the subscription is actually putting them in date order from written date.

The one I linked? It's a 2022 account?

Is it though? I see 1897.

Also good point about the wall crawling… haha hmm 🤔
I often think though about what sorts of things I'd accept if they weren't the stuff we've been saturated with.
Doesn't like sunlight, can't appear in mirrors, ok, vampire.
But what if vampires were like... need a shit ton of vitamin D so they're always eating fish and liver and followed low FODMAP diets to avoid garlic. Would I pick up on it as readily? Probably not!

Me too, because if it were a cape it would have fallen over his head!

That’s what I thought- if he’s upside down then the cape would fall down over his head. Unless it’s got some wires in it or something else to hold it stiff
See, I know I'm not a good note taker, because even when the things I need to jot down are very clear and I'm in a perfectly rational state of mind, I can't get half the word count of our friend Harker.
I know I've read this book before, but somehow this whole scene with the female vamps was not in my memory at all.

The bag is what makes this scene memorable for me. Gross!

“Yes, I too can love; you yourselves can tell it from the past. Is it not so?"
That was a powerful scene too! I can't stop thinking about it.

Is everyone following Harker?"
That's perfect!
I'm terribly behind on my comments, but absolutely want to catch up and write something for every email.

I agree, but I also am terribly missing Jonathan Harker Tweets. Can't wait until he's properly back in story.

AITA because I wouldn't promise to stake my wife through the heart and cut her head off?
Hee hee.

I'm finishing the book now. It is fairly good. But it does go on and on too long in parts.
(The influence on literature was huge, but my personal enjoyment puts it only at pretty good.)
