SOLVED. YA Adventure. Orphanage - child - forest. Not after 2012. Possibly French. [s]

HI,
I read a book back in ~2011-2012
First I am french, so the book may be french or traduced from english.
The story is about a little boy, raised by his father in a forest. They hunt animals and live in a shelter they made themself.
SPOILER ahead ! :
At some point the father dies and the boy decide to leave. I don't know how be he end up in a orphanage and try to escape. He succeed by stealing a vehicle (a bus i think) and leave with all the orphans. At some point the other orphans realize they prefered being at the orhpanage so they stop the bus and he leaves in the wilderness with just 1 friend.
SPOILER ahead ! :
We learn the his friend is supposed to be under medications and is sick so he might die. A cop is after them and pretend that the boy shot at him. The boy is accused of firing on a cop but proves that he would not have missed it because he is a really good shooter.
Also the name of the book, as I remember is a weird word, not even a real word. And complicated.

I checked the list but none of them ring a bell.

Also I remember that at some point in the story, he drives a pickup I think.
And he end up at some place where he shots at bottles with friends and lives a life of no worries.

It sounds like you definitely read it in French?

Did it seem like it took place in France? What time period? Orphanages are not really a thing in the modern day, at least in the US.

Yes I definitively read it in french, but it may be a translation. Yeapons are not common in france and I would say US just because I feel that it was not france but I really don't know.

The time period would be at least after the war, with hospitals having "developped" techniques. Cars and bus being commons and developped also.

SPOILERS AHEAD!
Moon, dix ans, vit seul avec son pere, dans une foret de l'Alabama, loin des hommes et de la societe. Son pere, veteran du Vietnam, voue une haine tenace au gouvernement americain, et lui a appris a survivre dans les bois. Quand il meurt, Moon, en plus de son chagrin, est desempare d'un cote, il aimerait suivre les preceptes de son pere, de l'autre, il souffre de la solitude. Il decide de partir pour l'Alaska, avec une brouette qui contient ses maigres biens. Arrete par la police, il est envoye dans un foyer pour enfants a la derive. Cependant, il ne tarde pas a se faire la belle avec deux compagnons, Hal et Kit. Hal veut retrouver son pere alcoolique. Mais l'experience tourne court: Kit tombe malade, et Moon se voit force de rejoindre la civilisation pour tenter de le sauver, en vain. L'epreuve de la mort de Kit pese lourdement sur Moon. Hal l'accueille chez son pere et l'aide a faire face. De plus, Moon doit affronter la vengeance d'un policier avec qui il a eu des demeles autrefois, et qui l'accuse, a tort, de lui avoir tire dessus. Un homme finira par l'aider: un avocat, qui le blanchit des accusations calomnieuses du policier et met tout en oeuvre pour retrouver son oncle, son unique parent, dont le garcon ignorait l'existence. L'espoir d'une vie meilleure est desormais a sa portee.

I was really young when I read that so I did not even know the alabama nor the moon (cause I did not speak english back then) so that is why I was remembering a made up word...
